BCB demands Allan Donald for an explanation
BCB plans to ask Allan Donald for clarification regarding his comments on Shakib Al Hasan's controversial appeal for a timed-out decision against Angelo Mathews

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) plans to ask Allan Donald for clarification regarding his comments on Shakib Al Hasan’s controversial appeal for a timed-out decision against Angelo Mathews in their recent match against Sri Lanka on November 6 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

In an interview with CricBlog.Net, Donald expressed his displeasure.

“It’s sad to watch. I get why Shakib tried it. He said, ‘I was doing everything to win.’ You can hear I don’t like it in my voice. When it happened, my first instinct was almost to go on the field and say, ‘Stop, we don’t stand for this. We’re not that kind of team,'”Donald said.

Shakib Al Hasan faced significant criticism for his actions, with Donald adding his voice to the disapproval. BCB officials acknowledged Donald’s comments and expressed their intention to seek an explanation promptly.

“We noticed the news quoting Donald, and we’re taking it seriously. We’ll definitely ask for an explanation in the next few days,” the statement said.

In the 25th over, after Sadeera Samarawickrama left, Angelo Mathews had a problem with his helmet strap. He asked for a new one from the dugout. Even though Mathews tried to explain, Bangladesh’s captain, Shakib, quickly asked for a ‘timed out’ dismissal making Mathews the first-ever international cricketer to be dismissed in this manner.
