Yuvraj Singh's admission echoes the bittersweet state of their once-strong bond, which has been strained in recent years

Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh recently delved into his complex relationship with star India batsman Virat Kohli during a recent interview. Both players shared the field for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL and contributed to India’s 2011 World Cup victory. Yuvraj, an established cricketer, served as a guiding force for Kohli when he made his debut in 2008.

In the interview on TRS Clips on YouTube, Yuvraj Singh revealed about his connection with Virat Kohli.

“I don’t really bother him much, he’s busy, you know. Yeah,” Singh said.

Yuvraj then reminisced about his time with Kohli.

“Back then, Virat Kohli was called Cheeku. Now, Cheeku is known as Virat Kohli. There’s a big difference,” he added.

While both players excelled for RCB in the IPL and were pivotal members of the 2011 World Cup-winning squad, Yuvraj’s comments hinted at a more distant bond with Kohli.

In the ongoing World Cup 2023, Kohli’s exceptional form has garnered attention. Turning 35 on November 5, 2023, Kohli celebrated by equalling Sachin Tendulkar’s 49 ODI centuries against South Africa at Eden Gardens. With 543 runs in eight innings and an average of 108.60, Kohli stands second in the tournament’s run-scoring chart after Quinton de Kock.
