Week 1 - Intro to RoboLab 2/1/08 |

This semester the kids will be studying programming with ROBOLAB. The first lesson consisted of an introduction to ROBOLAB. We lectured for a majority of the time on the purpose of ROBOLAB and many of the icons. It was a bit tedious, but important for the kids to have an introduction before getting on the computers. We had them give instructions to Jon to have him pick up a folder from across the room. The kids had to give him detailed instructions, for example if they said go straight, Jon would simply walk straight into the wall because the kids had not given him a stop command. Next the kids were given a sheet of paper with ROBOLAB icons on it. They had to cut out the icons and order them to make a specified program. This was a very simple lesson to introduce ROBOLAB.
