Chinatown - Fong - 2/6/2009
This week was a continuation of the activity from the week before. Last week, we had introduced the "remote control car" activity, but no one had completed it. This involved the kids controlling where their car goes with the touch sensor. This week, we gave more specific directions - to have the car always move left when the button is released and always move right when the button is pressed using a loop. This went extremely well. Everyone successfully completed their remote control car and maneuvered the slalom course (weaving between books). We then split them up into two teams and had a relay race on two courses next to each other - when one car was done moving down and back the slalom course, the next car could start. The kids were really excited about this competition, and the class overall was a success.
