on the third week we went over what the engineering process is. the kids had to come up with drawings of some engineered item and had to go through the engineering process. 

We first handed out sheets of papers with the engineering process an read through it together.  The students picked up on it quickly and were able to understand the importance of it when creating a new item.

Later the students are expected to remember the process when they are making their own things during other lessons.
