This week we started our first full building and programing activity at ISB. We introduced the activity by talking about the engineering design process and worked through it with the example of the fan. The students were very inexperienced with building with the NXTs, so deciding on a design and building the fans took the students a lot longer than we anticipated. We has also discussed and brainstormed sturdy building techniques, and the students seemed to grasp these concepts well, but physically creating the design was tough for them for this activity.
