| February 5 - Egg Helmet |
|
This week we did the egg helmet activity. The class had done this once before, so we began by discussing their previous designs. We gave them the newspaper, cotton balls, tape, a plastic bag, popsicle sticks, and eggs. Several groups accidentally broke their eggs in the process of constructing their helmets, so we would recommend bringing extras in the future. Each group explained their design and tested their helmet in front of the class. Keeping the egg in the plastic bag did a good job of preventing messes. Afterwards, we talked about some of the design elements that were common and how they helped protect the egg. |
