Because the student pairs made drastically different progress last week, this week we divided the students into groups based on each pair's progress. Some students still needed to build the actual car. For this class, the main focus is programming SO WE SHOULD REMEMBER TO BRING THE TUFTS WORKSHOP BUILD GUIDES IN THE FUTURE because the NXT build guides are too complicated for many middle school students. We introduced the light snesor so that the other students could practice programming with the challenge of the "velociraptor" activity. Three groups finished the challenge without too much guidance, and many other groups got close. A few students did not start programming at all.
