Dhoni highlighted the divine aspect of the final and praised the team's performance

The IPL 2023 final between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will be etched in memory, according to CSK skipper MS Dhoni. The high-voltage clash at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium spanned two days due to rain, setting the stage for a thrilling encounter.

As Chennai pursued a record-equalling fifth IPL title, Gujarat aimed to defend their crown in a match that unfolded like a fairy-tale. Dhoni, speaking at a recent event, acknowledged the divine script that unfolded. CSK emerged victorious, with star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja playing a pivotal role.

“The final seemed like it was perfectly planned by God. It didn’t start on time, you know, and it’s the only final that lasted for three days,” Dhoni said.

CSK, facing a revised total of 171 in 15 overs, showcased their prowess during the run-chase.

“They scored the runs they needed to. The best part would have been getting the target before we started batting, and that’s exactly what happened. Then, when we needed a boundary, we managed to get it somehow. It felt like following a script,” he added.
